Weekly prayer focus

Each week, we will focus on a specific aspect of Matthew 17, drawing out the themes, revelation, and spiritual insight found within the chapter. Please use the fasting guide as your reference for prayer points, scripture focus, and weekly instructions.

WEEK 1: OCT 11 - 17

Weekly Prayer Format

Each week, we will engage in a specific prayer rhythm designed to deepen your discipline, stretch your faith, and cultivate intimacy with God:

πŸ”Ή Week 1: 5 AM Prayer (Oct 11–17)

Sacrifice sleep and rise early to seek the Lord before the sun rises. Starting your day in His presence brings clarity and strength for what lies ahead.

πŸ”Ή Week 2: Prayer Watches (Oct 18–24)

We will cover the eight prayer watches of each day in unified prayer. Based on the availability you provide during registration, you will be assigned a 1-hour time slot within one of the designated prayer watches and grouped with others for accountability and agreement. Together, we are creating a continuous rhythm of intercession around the clock.

πŸ”Ή Week 3: Midnight Prayer (Oct 25–31)

Contend for our generation and future in the midnight hour! We will gather at midnight to make declarations and war in the spirit with boldness and authority.

βœ… Be Faith-Filled & Faithful

Fasting is an act of faith that produces faithfulness. Come before God daily with expectancy and confidence in His Word.
πŸ“– Hebrews 11:1, 6; Hebrews 12:1–2

βœ… Be Prayerful

Pray:

  • With faith and expectation (Mark 11:22–24)

  • Using the Word of God (Isaiah 55:6–11; Hebrews 4:12)

  • In the Spirit (Romans 8:26–27)

  • In agreement with others (Matthew 18:19)

  • Continuously (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

  • With power and authority (Matthew 10:1; Luke 10:19; Ephesians 2:6; Matthew 16:19)

βœ… Be Obedient

Obey the voice of God quickly and completely.
πŸ“– Isaiah 58

βœ… Be Consecrated

This fast is not just about abstaining from food. It is about total consecration.

  • Purify yourself as you ascend into God’s presence (Psalm 24:1–4)

  • Ask the Holy Spirit before consuming any media or entering certain spaces: "Is this helping me cultivate Your presence?"
    πŸ“– Exodus 19:3–11; Proverbs 4:23; Psalm 119:37; Romans 13:14

βœ… Be Organized

Create a consistent schedule for prayer and use reminders to stay accountable.
πŸ“– Mark 1:35

βœ… Be Disciplined

Don’t overeat when breaking your fast.

Let your spiritual appetite increase as your physical one decreases.
πŸ“– John 4:34
